Knocked down & Stationary
There seem to be some confusion on when do you actually get up from being knocked down or shaking off stationary effects. Hopefully this post can clear some things up.
Non-focus method
Knockdown: A model can forfeit its movement or its action at the start of its next activation unless it was knocked down during its controller's turn (pg 63-64).
Stationary: Cannot be shaken off by normal means.
Focus method
Knockdown: During your Control Phase after allocating focus, if this model is knocked down it can spend 1 focus point to stand up (pg 73-75).
Stationary: During your Control Phase after allocating focus, if this model is stationary it can spend 1 focus point to cause the stationary status to expire (pg 73-75).
I admit that I too mix this up sometimes. This is an important point to note because since a knocked down model doesn't block LOS, one can consider an awesome play using this fact to his/her advantage.
Also, do note that the rulebook specifically states that a knocked down model cannot be locked or moved by a slam (pg.63). It does not say anything about push or throwing .

Just want to ask something.
I know warrior models cannot shake off from stationary, but how long does stationary last? Is it for one round or forever?

Re: Knocked down & Stationary
Usually its stated for 1 round only (in the rules). If its forever, it should say so
Re: Knocked down & Stationary
The main rules does not state how long it lasts (pg. 65 of the rulebook) but it's usually stated in the specific rules - where stationary takes effect - how long it's supposed to last. eg. Sorscha's feat.

Re: Knocked down & Stationary
Was wondering why the rulebook doesn't state its length... so everyone's who's frozen magically defrosts on the opponent's next turn? Back to normal?
Thanks for all the replies

I too wondered about this at one point until i realised all crit stationary effects (at least the ones I know off) state that models are stationary for one round.
Re: Knocked down & Stationary
I think its to give them the freedom to make stationary effects that last longer than 1 round. There's no standard, it's just that most abilities/effects right now state their stationary effect lasts for 1 round.

Did anyone else know this?! o_0
I need to do more power attacks to familiarize meself with the rules for 'em.
Mercykiller:
"A point of note though: the flying Drakhun trick does not work in Mk2. Models which cannot be knocked down must still give up either their move or action if they were 'knocked down' on their turn, i.e. thrown."
Me:
"Oh; it never occurred to me to throw the Drakhun. Does that mean throwing leviathans and superiority-buffed khador jacks to increase charge range doesn't work anymore?"
Mercykiller:
"Correct. That was completely removed from the game, except for eIrusk's feat, which doesn't work on models that can't be knocked down because they were never knocked down in the first place so they still have to forfeit. As odd as that sounds It's early and there's no coffee in me yet, but the rule iirc is the last paragraph of two-hand throws. "
Me:
"Ah, bugger me, you're right!
"if a thrown/slammed model cannot be knocked down it must still forfeit its movement or action if it activates later in the turn which it was thrown."
Damn; there goes that plan then, though running my own Devastator into enemy troops and slamming it remains an option... "

Wait... To confirm
Is a stationary model knock down?
Cause the stationary status to expire, does that means that the model is still knock down, and have to spend one more focus to stand up?
And the rules says IF this model is knock down, so if a model is stationary but not knock down, it can't unfreeze?!
Ice bitch rocks!

Stationary models are not knocked down. And I believe you need to spend two focus to shake off from both effects if it happened to your caster/jack. There's no rule saying that you can't shake off from knocked down if you didn't shake off from stationary first, so technically you can still stand up and be frozen with 1 focus :p
Knocked down models don't block LOS, but stationary models still do (if they're not knocked down, that is).
I think Tekanan may have quoted his rules wrongly to cause you this much confusion ^.^

Re: Knocked down & Stationary
Stationery and knocked down are two different effects. Just imagine stationery as being frozen in place while knockdown they're on the floor.
Mechanically they're nearly identical, but frozen models still block LOS

Re: Knocked down & Stationary
...and yes you need two focus to shake off, hence my pSorscha Marauders idea i discussed with Dick the other day.
