Gizmoduck's Menoth Army
Hi everyone, Mawi here. Here are some picture I took of my Menoth host just before the tournament some models are not fully painted. Will add more if I have time later.

Re: Gizmoduck's Menoth Army
Any suggestions are welcomed I'm thinking whether I should repaint the Avatar Spear's handle.

Well done bro,
As for the handle its kinda odd for me but have some kinda light saber feel....
If for me i will repaint it to match the theme.

Light Saber hehehe Now that you mentioned it LOL... I think its the eldar residue still in me. (We like things all purty and colorful) I think I'll keep the blade blue so it provides an accent to the whole thing and repaint the handle silver or gold. It would help to alleviate attention to the modelling work at the base of the hand too.

Those are some really good pics u got there!
The Revenger looks abit plain in the area above the head. Perhaps do some freehands or attach some decals there?

Has a bit of a Slaanesh feel to it somehow... dunno why. The purple, maybe?

@Alif: I'll try out some freehand if I have time later need to buy soft pencil first. duwan to scratch the paint off.
@wayfarer: hehe I couldn't find Sanguine highlights anywhere cuz wolf didn't have stock at that time. So used warlock purple instead and that's how this little slanesh group came about lol. Sanguine base can't be highlighted with white/bleached bone as it just ends up looking brown. Red is too khador. So I suppose this purple would do. Keeping it to the Vatican color scheme.
My new Harbinger is going to get proper sanguine treatment if it is in stock.
Was thinking maybe my future exemplars should adopt the Swiss guard colours?
very colourful to be taken seriously though Exemplars causes "Bouts of laughter" due to their red blue and yellow armour. Perform command check!

Got harby. Spent about... an eternity putting her together, Some collateral damage on the drapery superglued it back together hope it will be ok. uber fragile she is. lol. Starting to think this project might be beyond my skillsz.

Man, I applaud you for your bravery! I took 1 look (OK, several looks) and decided: uh... maybe not. She looks way too fragile and fiddly. I don't think my dexterity is high enough to pass the skill check...

Re: Gizmoduck's Menoth Army
Broke one of the drapery in half while trying to twist it around to fit. Now need greenstuff to stick it back together. uwaaaaaaaa..
I reinforced the flagpole with a few straight pieces of papercilps running along the pole. Of course had to break the line where hand touches it. I hope after undercoating it wouldn't look too obvious.
Pinned the hand to the arm, torso to lower body, looooooooong drapery to base, left and right drapes onto the side of the base. Didn't want to risk twisting the drapes to look like the box art because takut it breaks again.
The acolytes have been cleaned and their pegs have been marked and drilled on the base. The only other problem i see happening is the chains. They are also very soft and bound to break if too much tension is applied. The problem is I dunno whether I should drill small holes on both the acolytes and harbinger to allow them to slot in and glue better. Don't want to risk damaging the harby's beautiful *ahem.. thighs.. If anything, I have to decide before undercoating. This is going to take a few more days. So Friday night cannot use her yet I don't like playing with bare minis. Fully painted or non.

Re: Gizmoduck's Menoth Army
Update on Harby's project. (I wish I can put pictures here but my hp cam takes sucky pics)
Experimented with Greenstuff for the first time today! Surprisingly it is not as intimidating as it sounds. Rolled up into a nice ball and wasn't too soft / sticky either. just like regular old plasticine. Glued the broken drapes together (Alvin said I ought to pin it but I don't have a drilbit that small) and smoothed the green stuff on either side to cover the cracks and provide extra reinforcement. After it dried, it seems to be quite strong. As long as I don't drop it on the floor it ought to stay. (No crashing into my harby during play please!!! she's very fragile lol literally)
Also added some green stuff into the cracks between her torso and bottom half, and at the point where the flag pole connects to the flag. Hopefully it would hold the shape better during transport etc. Sculpted a little design so that it doesn't look like an ugly blob.
Readjusted the acolytes to estimate the chains. I drilled a hole into their closed fists and shape one end of the chain so that it can be slotted in for a stronger connection. I might need to flatten the other end so that I can slide it between the gap near her thighs. (That sounded wrong).
All these were done last night and didn't take very long tbh. The instructions say I ought to cut the chain for the guy at the back but I'm going to leave it as is. I bent it slightly so that the chain bent slightly giving the impression the guy at the back is closer to her than the ones in front who have their chains taut.
Undercoated in white and when it dries later, will start the painting process! wooop

Re: Gizmoduck's Menoth Army
I think WGS had a new shipment of decks. Various. I didn't need any so I didn't check what came in, sorry. I didn't really plan on going but was there on Saturday for about 2-3 hours or so? Only played boardgames and chit-chat.
I did see Khador starter boxes were sold out, though. WGS brought in 10 boxes, I think. Some decks came in, also some Retribution stuff. Not much else left - I think most of the things came in were for people's orders. According to Wolf, the WM community is growing. eg. 10 Trollbloods books came in, all sold. He had to restock on the force books.
