Gizmoduck's Menoth Army

No no, the Vanquisher is a really good jack. In fact, it's an auto-include in many many lists (just check PP's Menoth Faction forums). It's good at taking out massed infantry light or heavy and that's why most people bring at least 1 - some even bring 2.

The Reckoner, is less of a 'crowd pleaser' and more of a 'it's personal' thing.

It's also a personal preference sort of thing.

Ok got the templar happy to start the new project!

Mounted the parts on a metal crusader torso and legs (so I ordered the head, shield and chain weapon) and got a base thanks to Jason and the wonder that is coffee. To make the templar stand out I am going to paint it using a different colour than the vanquisher. My aim is to use different colour scheme for every 8pts warjack that I have and would get in the future - vanq, templar, dildo, etc. because I figured I would probably just use one of them in an army at any given time.

So maybe this time, I am going with white black and red i.e. you guessed it ! the templars! lol...



I think it should work just fine and still keep in the traditions of the menoth gang. When the k.exemplars arrive, I will be using the same colours too, So the subtle divisive nature of the Menoth faction can show through - well at least they're united in smiting.

ok the knights have arrived and I am crawling the web to look for a color scheme. I am thinking of painting them similarly to the templar. So he can act like their big brother or something lol.

I really like the effect on the Templar's shield! The overall colour scheme is nice too - it sure looks like you put a lot of effort into this model.

Not really bro, only 2 nights it took to paint maybe it looked better in the picture. I think I put more effort into the harbinger which didn't turn out as nice as I wanted it to. lol

2 nights? That's pretty quick. What did you use for the base? It sure towers over everything else... hmm... are you trying to take attention away from your Avatar? Sneaky!

I used cork for the base.. Yes you found me out! I am trying to improve the survivability of the walking temple/mosque/church thing.

All my 8 point jacks will be on scenic bases. Even though it takes a little bit more time, I think its worth it.

Update: KE are primed and first layer of metallic paints have been applied. Going for dwarf bronze on the armors and menoth base tunics. However I am worried that a red cross won't work on a cream base. I tried it on my pKreoss and wasn't very happy about it. One technique that I think may improve it is to have a black outline going around the cross to make it pop out. Free handing that would be a b*tch and I am impatient, So I'll go with badab black wash around the cross.

... Hmmm... I'm really liking your painting. Really clean, lots of very well placed highlight, battle damage that is thematic and not messy. The white (cream) especially. I'm impress.

Trust me, all my armies look like a bunch of carnival clowns after a while I can't resist making them look like a bunch of harlequins.. heheh

I have a friend who is a new player and he paints better than me! I suppose the most important thing for me is that I like to see painted miniatures on the table. (CHOIRS!) So I keep it to the minimal and get the job done asap. So by training myself to paint quickly, I can get units on the table and play with them in a couple of days There are some people who prefer to create masterpieces but never end up finishing anything which I think is a shame. Cmon guys! get those models painted and let's go to LEGIO!

Your work not master piece enough?! If it's anymore it would be a display piece that will never see any table time.

Too colourful? Nah... Your menoth pieces shows good colour sense. Even the blue light saber... Ha ha... They do stand out nicely, I like too.


Funny eldars. Yeah only old folks like us remember them... I really like their story a d style.

Does legio accept proxy?

first of all, nice painting!! definately better than my brother's. haha kidding bro. nanti hari raya i minta maaf. and man you should keep the lightsaber!! best avatar weapon ive seen. (what did you do to the small sword btw?)

secondly, yes legio doesnt mind proxies. we've even had the most ridiculous proxies ever, a toilet paper roll proxy for a drop pod!! which of course we just could not allow. as long as you proxy with any model its fine. we're not really that strict lol.

finally, just a little note, legio is currently under a slight 'renovation' change, whereby our large gaming area is currently used to store some new factory equipment (it is a factory anyway) which just arrived recently and requires a cold area. hence the usual gaming area is atm moved to a smaller section but everything else is still the same.

@arzmi: Generally the PP bundles are quite expensive - that's all excluding shipping. I suggest you get the models from other places online. Honestly, I don't understand these so-called bundles. They are quite expensive! Unless you really really want the PP accessories...

Wsup Arzmi, thanks for the kind words. I might get the Castigator from you after gaji I still don't have a two handed warjack. Your brother is a really cool guy and I think his pEiryss is the most misleading miniature ever lol.

OK2 I won't repaint the lightsaber! LOL But the handle had to be repainted because I myself didn't like how it turned out. I am however, keeping the blade as it is.
@Arzmi, the short sword? See if you can identify it in the picture lol.. it's still there.

Current project is the Daughters of the flame and the boyband Still waiting for Wolf to get his stock for my Vilmon and paladins. With the Castigator, I would have a tier 4 Harbinger list Cheap2 heavy warjacks mari2!

Really la! Your mastery of white really earn my envy... I have been trying to paint white for almost 20years... And I still suck. My first white was the dark angels first company terminators... Tapau!

I'm going to repaint the acolytes when I have time, I rushed them a little bit. Maybe some freehand job once I get better at it. LOL freehand job.. get it?

Senang saja! don't paint white! lol..

Start with menoth base / bleached bone. Then light wash with Gryphone sephia mixed with black or mud wash. Must be thinned down with water a lot. Remember washes gets darker after drying, and never let it pool up.

Apply it a few times in the cracks. Then menoth base again, highlight up to white using very thin layers. VVVVV important! because you want the translucent effect.
