PERGH lawa giler !!!
double salute on white mastery bro. think i'll ask Jeff to include warmachine/hordes as one of the categories in next year's Golden Kris (somewhat malaysia's own Golden Daemon painting competition. instead of a sword you get a kris to boot haha)
painting tips required if ya dont mind bro: im actually trying to get a white/cream/off-white army for my warhammer fantasy army, but i am not talented and lazy as hell to paint with anything that requires more than 2 or 3 steps. therefore is there anyway you could suggest a 2 or 3 step including the basecoat stage to paint a nice off-white/cream/white color? btw keep in mind my fantasy empire army has more than 100+ models lol.
thanks in advance bro!! and happy hari raya haji!!

Re: Gizmoduck's Menoth Army
2 or 3 steps hmm?? 100 models you say?
I'm no expert but you can try the following tips.
1) Make sure you use a variety of brush sizes. GW doesn't have the smallest one but go to art shops and you can get sable brushes which are super small.
2) Undercoat white. obvious lorr..
3) Use actual paint mixes. If you want the cream look, go for PP's menoth base or bleached bone. The other variation is the grey base with a light grey colour. Like the one they use for the studio's menoth (but they release a cream menoth base? wtf is that all about) mixing paint to get the color you want is sometimes a bad idea imo.
4) Do the armor parts first and try as much as possible to be neat and tidy. Save you the time to clean up later.
5) A fast way to batch paint a battalion would be to use drybrushing for highlights. after you laid down the basecoat, add some white to the base colour, water it down somewhat (you have to try a few times to get the right consistency - so that the texture is not so grainy) then finally drybrush with white. How white you want the section to be depends on how big the section is drybrushed white. So, if only the tips are whitish, then the prime color would be cream. But if more white is used, it would be a cream shade instead. do it lightly and with as little paint as possible. Give it a few coats after drying. Don't goop the paint
6) Treat cream as yellow, not white. So the colors next it must considered based on yellow. Check the color wheel. So for e.g., silver next to white can work, but silver next to yellow tak berapa ngam. You have to give it a dark shade first.
These tips were taught to me by a friend when I was painting m biel tan eldars So I hope you can beenfit from them too

Re: Gizmoduck's Menoth Army
Here's my latest project! (actually no.. Another unit is currently being painted and is about 80% done. One day painting FTW! will probably be unleashed to the non-believers tonight at LEGIO!)
Blessing of Vengeance! I'm planning to use Severius more often in the near future so had to get this guy for the fun of it. Personally, I think the model is great, lots of details on the armor, a couple of mini drapes (reminds me of avatar) and an awesome long spear. The head as usual is a bit like a bird. Here's a picture of the PP version:
As you can see, the main issue is the spear. Somebody thought it's funny to give a light warjack a spear double the length of its body! greatt... I don't want to glue the spear horizontally because of space issue and strength. Horizontally means there will be more contact with other models / side of boxes / bags and might cause breakage. It also looks kinda weird, because I've never seen anything holds a spear horizontally, even for a warjack, you sort of reduce the power if you try to slash with a spear one handed. Poking is always better mawhahaha! So this is what I've done.
The short legged freak is mounted on a rock (Made from cork - Break a few pieces and group them back together to make the perfect circular looking rock. Don't waste time trying to cut a perfect circle from a piece of cork) The spear handle can now fall straight down due to the modified height. It also makes the front of the model more visible.
I'll spray it soon and hopefully post a step by step painting process guide to this model. I'm trying to encourage more people to paint!!

Here are some pictures of the game I had with Alif at LEGIO. awesome snow table as always!!! I particularly like this one because it brings out the purple in my army hehehe... photo OP gallore!
Here is a the first stage of Blessing of Vengeance. First layer of paints applied. Sanguine base on the red parts. First white then Menoth base on the white parts. Drybrushed BG metal and Dwarf Bronze on the metallic areas.

Re: Gizmoduck's Menoth Army
Today's update! mom is coming to visit tonight, so there's a possibility painting will slow down quite a bit. Probably no Friday night gaming too! sad panda!
Here's an update of ze blessing. Highlighted the red part first with crimson red, added yellow and a touch of warlock purple to the edges. Built it up with white until its almost a grapefruit colour. Didn't want it to be too yellowish y'know.
The whites I did as usual but I just discovered that the way they achieved whites for the PPs official menoths is by starting with a black undercoat. White undercoat makes the cream too yellowish. Although it's alright, I prefer the black undercoat effect. The white has a bluish tint to it. Just remember to keep the paint as thin as possible. Do a few layers to get an even surface. Definitely don't rush the process.

Hi bro,
Well,
still interested in selling it and how much ya selling?
I won't mind getting it, if u can help me fix her color scheme a bit before passing it to me , as I remember she has your army color scheme therefore I prefer to change it back to original color .

Colour scheme should be easy enough. I only need to change the purple on the flag to white and the robes of the acolytes from purple to red. The rest is standard. In terms of how much, it's hard to judge because I bought the model from shop. This weekend we talk hehe

Re: Gizmoduck's Menoth Army
Went home at lunch time and got bored. So I painted wahahaha
I retouched the highlights to make it brighter. Working with black undercoat is very tough. Maybe I try grey next time.
Highlighted the bronze with the two golds and finally a mixture of burnished gold and mithril silver for the tips.
The inscription were first dabbed with white then a series of yellow orange and red.

Re: Gizmoduck's Menoth Army
Blessing of Vengeance almoooost done! Just figuring out the details!
The shield in the original version was in red instead of the gold I painted here. There's still a couple of drapes that is supposed to fall off his shoulders ala' Avatar. But it's like a mini drape lol. I was thinking of instead of putting the drapes on his shoulders maybe I can put them on the shield?

Re: Gizmoduck's Menoth Army
Hello non-believers!
Just an update on my latest projects, I'll upload some pictures of it later when I can be bothered. I am working on a weapon replacement and base for my Avatar. I am tired of my spear hand coming off lose so I decided to re-pin it and added green stuff for extra support. I also ordered the Scourge of Heresy upgrade kit and the sword now belongs to Avatar because he is more awesome than Scourge. That's an expensive sword, but wtheck. Steve needs an upgrade and by Menoth he will get it!
I'm also planning on getting either the reckoner / Castigator. Or perhaps a unit of infantry is the way to go. I have a lot of unused jacks anyway.
